Community Rallies to Support Vien Chau Village Resident, Le Thi Sinh, Facing Multiple Health Challenges

Residents of Vien Chau Village, Co Do Township, are mobilizing support for Le Thi Sinh, a woman facing significant health and financial hardships. Ms. Sinh, who lives alone after the loss of her parents, struggles with polyarthritis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure, requiring frequent hospitalizations. Despite having health insurance, the costs of travel and uncovered medications create a persistent financial burden.

A History of Hardship

Ms. Sinh’s life has been marked by adversity. Her father passed away in 1992, leading to financial hardship and the loss of the family home. In 1998, with support from the community, she and her mother were able to build a small house. Following her mother’s death in 2017, Ms. Sinh has lived alone, contending with her health issues and limited resources.

Recent Support and Ongoing Needs

The local government and community have previously provided assistance, including foundational work and roof repairs completed in 2024 to provide a stable home. However, ongoing medical treatment and basic living expenses remain a challenge. Ms. Sinh urgently requires continued community support to manage her health and maintain a livelihood.
