Springfield Town Center Shooting: Juvenile Suspect Charged

Springfield, VA – A juvenile male has been charged following a non-fatal shooting at Springfield Town Center on Friday, February 13, 2026, that sent a man to the hospital, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

Details of the Incident

Officers responded to the 6500 block of Springfield Mall around 5:34 p.m. For reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. NBC Washington and MSN reported on the initial response.

Investigation and Arrest

Preliminary investigations indicate the shooting stemmed from a verbal dispute between the suspect and the victim. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly produced a firearm and shot the victim before fleeing the scene. Responding officers quickly “saturated the area” and arrested the suspect in the parking garage. A second juvenile was likewise taken into custody in connection with an associated assault.
