Met Police Won’t Investigate Claims About Prince Andrew

The UK Metropolitan Police have decided not to start a criminal inquiry into reports that Prince Andrew asked his security guard, who is paid for with taxpayer money, to find damaging information about virginia Giuffre.

In October, The Mail On Sunday reported that the former duke of York, the King’s brother, gave Ms. Giuffre’s birthdate and social security number to his security officer in 2011. He allegedly asked the officer to investigate as part of an effort to discredit his accuser.

Scotland Yard said the police force will not investigate after reviewing the claims.

While we have praised the UK’s handling of the Prince Andrew case in the past,today we feel justice has not been served. We will continue to fight the system that protects abusers, especially as more evidence comes to light that can hold people accountable.

Family of Virginia Giuffre

Ms. Giuffre’s family said they are “deeply disappointed” by the decision to close the investigation “without clarification,” and added they were not warned about the proclamation.

They said in a statement on Saturday: “We received an email from a Metropolitan Police detective yesterday, Friday, December 12th, who did not indicate this announcement was coming.

“in fact, he asked if we had any evidence we wanted to share; we hadn’t replied yet.

“With the Epstein files soon to be released by the US Congress because of the Epstein Transparency act, we are surprised the Metropolitan Police didn’t wait to see if more evidence would appear.

“While we have praised the UK’s handling of the Prince Andrew case in the past, today we feel justice has not been served.

“We will continue to fight the system that protects abusers, especially as more evidence comes to light that can hold people accountable.

“our sister Virginia, and all survivors, deserve this much.”
