Adeline Virginia Woolf (London, January 25, 1882 – Rodmell, March 28, 1941), was an English writer, essayist and activist. she is considered one of the main figures of 20th century literature, actively engaged in the struggle for the equality of the rights between the sexes; she was also a militant of Fabianism. Among her best known books: “The DalWay Mrs.” (1925); “Gita al Faro” (1927); “Orlando” (1928); “A room all to itself” (1929).

It is worth noting, for future reference, that the creative power that bubbles so deliciously at the beginning of a new book cools after a while and then proceeds more slowly. Doubts accumulate. Then comes the surrender. The determination not to surrender and the feeling of a threatening form grab you more than anything else. I’m a little anxious. how will I do with this idea? Once we put ourselves at work, it is like a person who comes out to take a walk after seeing the country expanding previously. I don’t want to write anything in this book that I don’t like to write. Still, writing is always difficult.

At the time I was struggling to admit honestly that I didn’t think that Conrad’s latest book was good. I said it. It is painful (a little) to find defects in one that we especially respect.
