The end of December in Vitebsk and the Vitebsk region is a special time when cities and regional centers are filled with lights, music and anticipation of the holiday.The New Year’s atmosphere can be felt everywhere: concerts and game programs are held in squares, performances and shows are held in cultural centers, and fairs and skating rinks become points of attraction for families and groups of friends.The festive program in the region is designed so that everyone – from the smallest to the adults – can find an event to their liking and spend the winter days brightly and in good spirits.

A rich festive program unfolded on the main square of the city. During the day, play and sports activities for children take place here: relay races, competitions with animators, interactive areas with prizes. At certain hours, life-size puppets work, mini-performances and flash mobs take place.

As the evening approaches, the square is filled with music – New Year’s hits are played, creative groups from the city perform, and after 18:00 the festive illumination and light installations turn on. There are outlets with hot tea, mulled wine and treats. Entrance is free, treats and goods – from 3-5 BYN per serving/souvenir.
