Sparta Prague Defender martin Vitík Set to Complete move to Bologna

The long-running transfer saga surrounding Martin Vitík, the 22-year-old defender from Sparta Prague, is nearing it’s conclusion. Vitík arrived in Bologna on Friday afternoon to undergo a medical examination and finalize the details of his transfer to the Serie A club.

Accompanying the promising center-back was his agent, David, as they prepared for the necessary procedures to complete the deal. This move marks a critically important step in Vitík’s career, potentially launching him onto the international stage.

Reports indicate Sparta Prague is set to receive a transfer fee of €11 million for their academy product – approximately 271 million Czech crowns. Though, the final sum could rise to €15 million (around 371 million crowns) if performance-related bonuses are met. This substantial fee reflects Vitík’s potential and the growing demand for talented young defenders.

Vitík is expected to fill the void left by Dutch defender Sam Beuke, who is reportedly on the verge of a €30 million transfer to Napoli. Bologna is bolstering its defensive line with a player who has already demonstrated considerable quality and experience.

While interest from Bologna surfaced a year prior, Sparta Prague successfully retained Vitík’s services to strengthen their squad during the Champions League qualifying stages. Now, with the club’s blessing, Vitík is ready to embark on his first venture abroad.

During his time with Sparta Prague, vitík established himself as a key player, contributing to two Czech League titles and a Czech Cup victory. He has amassed 109 league appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals, and has also earned five caps for the Czech Republic national team. His consistent performances have made him a highly sought-after commodity in the European transfer market.
