Vitinha Shuts Down Real Madrid Transfer Rumors, Forcing Los Blancos to Explore Midfield Alternatives

Real Madrid’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha has been effectively ended by the player himself, who has expressed no interest in leaving the French capital. The 26-year-old, who finished third in the 2025 Ballon d’Or standings – the highest-ranked midfielder and the only one to place in the top 10 – has publicly stated his commitment to PSG.

Vitinha’s Firm Stance

“It would be silly to leave,” Vitinha told Portuguese television program Canal 11. “I don’t think it’s the best thing for me. I feel very good here at PSG. I feel that people appreciate me a lot and I feel that I have earned that affection. I love being here, and so does my family. We have a fantastic group and an incredible coach.”

Vitinha’s contentment extends beyond professional satisfaction. he also dismissed the allure of lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia. “I already earn very well here in Europe, at a big club. Doubling or tripling that salary wouldn’t make me any happier,” he stated, prioritizing a “stable career” over financial gain.

Real Madrid’s Midfield Rebuild

Real Madrid had identified Vitinha as a potential long-term solution to the void left by the departures of Toni Kroos (in 2024) and Luka Modrić (in 2025). However, with Vitinha unavailable, Los Blancos are now forced to consider alternative options to bolster their midfield.

Potential Alternatives for Real Madrid

Several players have been linked with a move to the Bernabéu. Among them are:

  • Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool): The Argentinian midfielder, whose contract with Liverpool is entering its final two seasons, has previously been of interest to Carlo Ancelotti.
  • Dominik Szoboszlai (Liverpool): Another Liverpool midfielder, Szoboszlai has also been linked, though his agent has seemingly ruled out a departure.
  • Angelo Stiller (VfB Stuttgart): This emerging German talent could observe his value increase significantly at the 2026 World Cup.
  • Kees Smit (Netherlands): Similar to Stiller, Smit’s performance at the 2026 World Cup could impact his transfer value.
  • Rodri (Manchester City): The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner, who grew up in Madrid, is out of contract at Manchester City next year and could be a viable option.
  • Nico Paz (Como – on loan from Real Madrid): Expected to return to Real Madrid this summer due to a buy-back clause, the club must decide whether to integrate him into the first team or sell him for a profit.

Real Madrid will need to act decisively to secure a suitable replacement as they navigate a challenging transfer market.
