Volleyball Roundup: Regional 2 Seniors Face First Defeat, U18s Advance to Playoffs

This weekend saw mixed results for local volleyball teams, with the Regional 2 senior women experiencing their first defeat of the season, while the U18 regional team secured a spot in the playoffs. The U15 and U18 departmental teams faced narrow losses, but the M15 bi-departmental team maintained a strong position in their championship.

Senior Women Suffer First Loss

The Regional 2 senior women’s team faced a tough challenge against Mauguio, ultimately conceding their first defeat of the season with a 3-0 scoreline. Despite a competitive match, they were overcome by a reinforced Mauguio team featuring players of a high caliber.

U18 Regional Team Advances to Playoffs

In a successful outing, the regional U18 team traveled to Narbonne and achieved a decisive 3-0 victory. This win secured their second-place finish in the first phase of the championship, earning them a place in the upcoming playoffs.

Bi-Departmental Teams Experience Close Contests

The bi-departmental M15 team traveled to Béziers Maraussan and fought a hard-fought match, ultimately falling to a 3-2 defeat. Despite holding several match points in the fifth set, they were unable to close out the game, losing 18-16. Despite the loss, they remain in third place in the championship standings.

The bi-departmental M18 team hosted the Béziers Angels, taking an early lead with a 2-1 advantage. However, they ultimately lost the match in a close fifth set, 15-13.

Looking Ahead

With a one-month break approaching, teams will regroup and prepare for the resumption of their respective championships in mid-March.
