Senators Acquire Warren Foegele from Kings in Trade Deadline Deal
The Ottawa Senators have bolstered their forward ranks by acquiring winger Warren Foegele from the Los Angeles Kings, just one day before the NHL trade deadline. The trade was announced on Thursday, March 5, 2026.

In exchange for Foegele, the Senators are sending a 2026 second-round draft pick – originally acquired from the Buffalo Sabres – to the Kings. The teams have also agreed to a swap of conditional third-round picks in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
Ottawa will receive the lesser of the Kings’ or Dallas Stars’ third-round pick, although Los Angeles will get the higher of Ottawa’s or the Washington Capitals’ third-round pick. A condition exists where, if both Ottawa and Washington fail to qualify for the 2026 NHL playoffs, the Senators will instead send the lesser of their own or Washington’s third-round pick to the Kings.
