Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile Sunset: Servers to Shut Down in April 2026
Activision has officially announced the finish of live service for Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, with servers scheduled to go offline on April 17, 2026. The decision follows a period of scaled-back support, including removal from app stores in May 2025 and the disabling of in-app purchases.
A Disappointing Run for Mobile Battle Royale
The shutdown doesn’t come as a surprise, as Activision acknowledged in May 2025 that Warzone Mobile “unfortunately has not met [Activision’s] expectations” with mobile-first players, despite its success with PC and console audiences IGN. The game launched in March 2024 and, while achieving initial visibility, struggled to maintain momentum in the competitive mobile shooter market GamesIndustry.biz.
What This Means for Players
Players will be able to continue playing Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile and engage with existing content until April 17, 2026. Although, Activision has confirmed that refunds will not be issued for unused COD Points or previously purchased in-game content IGN. Guest accounts will be inaccessible after the servers are deactivated, while Activision-linked accounts will remain active for use in other Activision titles.
Migration to Call of Duty: Mobile
Activision is encouraging Warzone Mobile players to transition to Call of Duty: Mobile, a separate title that offers a range of popular game modes, including Battle Royale, Multiplayer, and Zombies, as well as the DMZ: Recon extraction-based mode IGN. Call of Duty: Mobile receives frequent seasonal updates, featuring Ranked Play, Events, and a tiered Battle Pass system.
Financial Performance and Market Challenges
According to estimates from AppMagic, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile generated $1.4 million in consumer spending within the first four days of its release GamesIndustry.biz. Despite this initial success, sustaining long-term engagement proved difficult in the crowded mobile gaming landscape Mobile Marketing Reads.
