Washington Gymnastics Finishes Second at Big Four Meet, Michigan Claims Victory

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – The Washington Gymnastics team concluded its competition at the Big Four Meet on Saturday, February 28, 2026, finishing second with a team score of 194.425. The University of Michigan secured the win with a score of 197.475, followed closely by Penn State at 197.225, and Nebraska taking third place with 195.200.1

Huskies’ Performance Breakdown

Washington began the meet on vault, achieving a total score of 48.775. Kristin Lin led the Huskies in this rotation with a score of 9.800, closely followed by Kira Bolden at 9.775. Caitlin McWilliams and Jessica Schaffer both recorded scores of 9.750, with McWilliams matching her career-high.1

The GymDawgs then moved to uneven bars, their strongest event of the night, earning a 49.050. Lilly Tubbs delivered a standout performance, scoring a 9.925 to claim the event title and set a novel season-high. Deiah Moody contributed a 9.850, and Mary McDonough added a 9.825 to round out the rotation.1

On the balance beam, Washington scored a 47.525. Moody led the team with a 9.825, followed by Olivia Oppegard’s 9.650, and Lana Navarro with a 9.600.1

The Huskies concluded the meet on floor exercise, posting their highest rotation score of the night with a 49.075. McWilliams led the way with a 9.850, even as Schaffer scored a 9.825. Chelsea Hallinan, Lin, and Bolden all contributed scores of 9.800.1

All-Around Results

Kristin Lin led the Huskies in the all-around competition, placing third overall with a score of 38.100.1

Up Next for the GymDawgs

Washington will continue its season on the road, heading to Cedar City to compete against No. 28 Southern Utah on Friday, March 6, at 5:30 p.m. PT. The GymDawgs will then return home to host Senior Night against No. 49 Sacramento State on Friday, March 13, at 6:30 p.m. PT.1
