Wilmington College Swimmers Garn and Kuetemeyer Earn All-OAC Honors

(AKRON, Ohio) – The Wilmington College women’s swimming team concluded day three of the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championships in fifth place with a total of 210 points. Senior Makenna Garn and junior Gabby Kuetemeyer distinguished themselves by earning All-OAC honors with second-place finishes in their respective events.

Garn Secures Fifth All-OAC Recognition

Makenna Garn achieved a second-place finish in the 100 Yard Breaststroke, clocking in at 1:08.01. This performance followed a time of 1:09.57 in the preliminary round. This All-OAC honor marks the fifth of Garn’s career and her second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke event. Wilmington Quakers Athletics

Kuetemeyer Earns First All-OAC Honor

Gabby Kuetemeyer secured her first All-OAC honor with a second-place finish in the 400 Yard IM, finishing with a time of 4:53.77 after posting a 4:58.82 in the prelims. Wilmington Quakers Athletics

Additional Quaker Performances

Senior Sydney Overmyer competed in the A final of the 200 Yard Freestyle, finishing eighth with a time of 2:08.55, preceded by a 2:05.95 in the prelims. Sophomore Adisson Houdeshell participated in a pair of B finals, securing second place in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:09.21) and sixth place in the 200 Yard Freestyle (2:14.75). Senior Abbi Whitesell finished fifth in the B final of the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:21.65.

The OAC Championships will conclude tomorrow, beginning with prelims at 10:00 A.M. And finals at 5:45 P.M. Wilmington Quakers Athletics
