Killester Return to Joint-Top After Hard-Fought Win
Killester secured a 74-69 victory over McEvoy’s Cavan Eagles, propelling them back into a tie for the top position in the Women’s Super League. The game was closely contested, with the Eagles leading for much of the third quarter, holding a 60-57 advantage heading into the final period. A crucial three-pointer from Leilani Turner shifted the momentum for Killester, giving them a 66-65 lead and ultimately securing the win. Morgan Lenahan and Audrey Roden contributed a combined 35 points, alongside Turner’s 14.
The defeat drops Cavan Eagles to a 7-10 record, hindering their playoff aspirations, especially following Trinity Meteors’ win against Brunell.
UCC Glanmire Overpower St. Paul’s Killarney
In a commanding display, UCC Glanmire defeated Utility Trust St. Paul’s Killarney 95-70. Gurranabraher Credit Union Brunell’s hopes for a top-four finish suffered a setback with an 86-81 loss to Trinity Meteors. SETU Waterford Wildcats tied with Brunell at a 10-7 record after a 93-71 win against Catalyst Fr. Mathews. FloMAX Liffey Celtics also secured a win, defeating Midlands Park Portlaoise Panthers 67-53.
Sarah Hickey of SETU Waterford Wildcats delivered a standout performance with 20 points and 12 rebounds in their win over Catalyst Fr. Mathews, officially confirming Fr. Mathews’ relegation from the division. Alyssa Frescas and Tiarra Brown each added 19 points, while Kate Hickey contributed 15.
Trinity Meteors defeated Brunell 86-81, led by Hazel Finn’s 19 points. Ava Learn, Kylie Horstmeyer, and Helena Keane also scored in double figures for Meteors.
FloMAX Liffey Celtics defeated Midlands Park Portlaoise Panthers 67-53, with Destinee Bursch and Aine O’Connor combining for 37 points.

AJ Williams led the Celtics with 22 points and 10 assists, while Philip Kearney added a season-high 19 points.
