Jordan Anthony and Chase Jackson Strike Gold at World Indoor Championships
The World Athletics Indoor Championships Kujawy Pomorze 26 witnessed thrilling performances on Friday, as the United States secured two gold medals courtesy of Jordan Anthony in the men’s 60m and Chase Jackson in the women’s shot put. Italy’s Andy Diaz Hernandez also successfully defended his title in the triple jump.
Anthony Lives Up to the Hype in 60m
USA’s Jordan Anthony, making his global championships debut, blazed to a world-leading time of 6.41 seconds in the men’s 60m final. This victory came against a competitive field including seasoned athletes and past champions. Teammate Trayvon Bromell, the 2016 world indoor champion, finished with a time of 6.45 seconds, securing the bronze medal, just one thousandth of a second ahead of Jeremiah Azu’s 6.46 seconds. Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson claimed silver with a time of 6.45 seconds.

Jackson Secures Shot Put Gold
Chase Jackson of the USA clinched gold in the women’s shot put, completing her collection of world indoor medals. She was the only competitor to exceed 20 meters, achieving a winning throw of 20.14m in the fourth round. This makes her the second US athlete to win this title, following Michelle Carter in 2016.
Canada’s Sarah Mitton took silver with a throw of 19.78m, while Sweden’s Axelina Johansson earned bronze, setting a new national record of 19.75m and becoming her nation’s first-ever world medalist in the women’s throws.

Diaz Retains Triple Jump Crown

Jamaica’s Jordan Scott secured silver with a season’s best of 17.33m, marking his first global medal. Algeria’s Yasser Mohammed Triki added a bronze medal to his collection, jumping 17.30m.
