WTCS Kicks Off Early with Thrilling Races
The World Triathlon Championship Series (WTCS), the pinnacle of short-course triathlon, will begin slightly earlier than usual on February 14-15 in Abu Dhabi (UAE). The vibrant city returns as a host for the opening event, showcasing the world’s elite athletes and also hosting a World Triathlon Mixed Relay Series on the same weekend.
Following Abu Dhabi, the WTCS will continue to amaze fans with its historic stops, including Yokohama (JPN) on May 17 and a new addition in Sardinia, Italy, at the end of May. The championship then heads to Hamburg (GER) in July for another leg of the WTCS and the Mixed Relay World Championships. A rising star on the circuit, Karlovy Vary (CZE) will host its first WTCS event in September, promising a challenging course and breathtaking scenery.
The Championship Finals return to Australia in 2025, with Wollongong (AUS) gearing up to crown the next World Champions in October.
Beyond the WTCS: Cups, Para Events, and Multisport Thrills
The World Triathlon Cup circuit will continue to provide a platform for emerging and seasoned athletes to compete globally. Para Triathlon events will also maintain a strong presence, with a robust calendar of competitions for athletes of all classes.
The Multisport calendar promises action throughout the year, with the Winter Triathlon and Duathlon World Championships returning to Pragelato (ITA), and the Multisport World Championships heading to Pontevedra (ESP). Alsdorf (GER) will host the Middle Distance Long Distance Duathlon Championships, while Zofingen (SUI) will once again organize the Long Distance Duathlon Championships.
