Wyoming Seeks Input on Strengthening Rural Healthcare

Governor Mark Gordon and Health Director Stefan Johansson are seeking feedback from Wyoming residents to improve healthcare services in rural communities. A virtual meeting and online survey are available to gather insights that will inform the state’s request for federal funding thru the Rural Health Transformation Program.

Addressing Critical Healthcare challenges

The initiative aims to address important challenges facing rural healthcare in Wyoming, including:

* staffing Shortages: Many rural hospitals and clinics struggle to attract and retain healthcare professionals.
* Behavioral Health Gaps: Access to mental health and substance abuse services is limited in many rural areas.
* Access to Maternity and Emergency Services: Ensuring timely access to critical care, particularly for pregnant women and emergency situations, is a priority.

The funding from the Rural Health transformation Program will be used to develop strategies to overcome thes obstacles and enhance the quality of healthcare available to Wyomingites in rural areas.

Wyoming residents have two opportunities to share their thoughts:
