Increase in Young People Without Completed Education

The proportion of people between the ages of 16 and 25 who have neither completed nor are currently completing upper secondary education has increased over the last two years.



The card version

80,000 people between the ages of 16 and 25 were without and outside high school in 2024, new figures from the Directorate of Education show.

  • The proportion has risen from 11.2 per cent in 2022.
  • This corresponds to an increase of around 8,000
