The protagonist in the book is Robinson Crusoe, who was born in an upper-class family in England. He lives a comfortable life and has no worries about food and clothing. He yearned for the outside world very much, so he set up his ambition to sail. Finally one day in 1951, he embarked on a voyage.
Unfortunately, Robinson encountered a shipwreck as soon as he set foot on the voyage and almost died. Then he was hijacked by pirates. After being a slave for several years, he escaped to a ship and was taken to Brazil. . Robinson made some money by running a plantation in Brazil, and then started his fourth voyage without stopping. This time it was even more unfortunate. His ship encountered a strong storm and ran aground on the rocks. He was the only one on the ship who survived.
After being shipwrecked, Robinson drifted to a desert island. Faced with the desolate and suffocating lonely environment on the island, as well as the situation of no food, no shelter, no clothes, and little hope of rescue, he initially sighed and was pessimistic and disappointed all day long. But when he realized that survival had become the biggest problem, he was not knocked down by the difficulties. Instead, he relied on his strong willpower to pick himself up again. After cheering up, he used the original materials on the island to build residences, grow food, domesticate livestock, make utensils, sew clothes, and transform the deserted island into a “paradise”. He also rescued a savage named “Friday”. During this period, he and “Friday” tried to escape from the desert island many times, but failed. It wasn’t until the 28th year of living on a desert island that he discovered a merchant ship that had encountered rebellion. After he rescued the captain and helped him recapture the merchant ship, he was able to get on the ship and return to England and his hometown.
In life, when some people encounter some minor setbacks and ups and downs, they blame others, become depressed, and succumb to difficulties without fighting spirit. If he could think about the many difficulties Robinson encountered on the desert island, he would know that the little difficulties and ups and downs he encountered were nothing.
