Jets Interview Ron Rivera for Head Coach Position
The New York Jets kicked off their search for a new head coach by interviewing former Washington and Carolina coach Ron Rivera on Thursday. This marks the first known candidate to meet with the team since Robert Saleh’s firing on October 7th.
Rivera, known for his aggressive coaching style and nicknamed “Riverboat Ron,” boasts a career record of 105-108-2. He led the Carolina Panthers to the playoffs four times, including a Super Bowl appearance in 2015. His unique ability to guide teams with losing records to the postseason is a testament to his leadership. Rivera’s experience and proven track record make him a strong contender for the Jets’ head coach position.
The interview comes as the Jets continue to seek a new leader after a disappointing season under interim coach Jeff Ulbrich. The team has also interviewed several prominent figures for their general manager position, including Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy, former Atlanta Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff, and former Tennessee Titans GM Jon Robinson.
