Fishbowl: A Narrative Adventure Exploring Grief and Hope Arrives in April
WINSTON-SALEM, March 5, 2026 – Developer imissmyfriends.studio and publisher Wholesome Games Presents have announced that Fishbowl, a narrative adventure game centered around themes of isolation, friendship, and grief, will launch on April 2, 2026. The game will be available for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, priced at $9.99 USD. Pre-orders are now open on PlayStation 5, granting players Early Access beginning March 30, 2026.
“The two of us have poured our hearts into Fishbowl from our two desks for the past five years,” say Rhea Gupte and Prateek Saxena, the duo behind imissmyfriends.studio. “It feels surreal that it will soon be out in the world for people to experience. We are eager to witness what they seize from Alo’s story and we wish for it to bring hope and a space for reflection.”
About Fishbowl
Fishbowl is described as a narrative game that blends slice-of-life elements with surrealism, focusing on dreams, grief, and hope. Players take on the role of Alo, who, while grappling with feelings of grief, isolation, and the pressures of adulthood, receives support from an unexpected source: a magical talking fish named Paplet from her childhood. Together, Alo and Paplet explore her past, leading to a path toward the future.
Key Features
- Players navigate daily tasks and activities to find fulfillment even in isolation.
- With Paplet’s help, players re-examine past events and interpret their dreams.
- The game incorporates a dynamic matching game where players act as a video editor, meeting colleagues, and collaborating.
- Fishbowl offers multiple paths forward, with no “subpar” endings; choices shape Alo’s future.
- The narrative encourages players to reflect on their own childhoods and define their aspirations.
According to the game’s Steam page, Fishbowl is an intimate experience where slice-of-life meets surreal. [Steam Page]
