Bryan Murray and Úna Crawford O’Brien Champion Alzheimer’s Tea Day 2026

Dublin, Ireland – Fair City actress Úna Crawford O’Brien is spearheading the Alzheimer’s Tea Day 2026 as its National Host, alongside her partner, actor Bryan Murray, who is living with Alzheimer’s disease. The annual fundraising event will seize place nationwide on Thursday, May 7, 2026, aiming to raise vital funds for dementia supports and services across Ireland.

Bryan Murray’s Journey and Advocacy

Bryan Murray, known for his role in RTE’s drama Fair City from 2005 until his retirement, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease six years ago. He and Crawford O’Brien have become strong advocates for raising awareness, understanding and support for families affected by dementia. Recently, Murray has moved into full-time care as his condition has progressed.

Alzheimer’s Tea Day: A National Initiative

Alzheimer’s Tea Day is one of The Alzheimer Society of Ireland’s largest annual fundraising events. It brings communities together to support the 64,000 people currently living with dementia in Ireland, a number expected to double within the next 20 years.
