Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do – South Korean tennis star Jeong Hyeon has officially joined the Gimpo City Hall Workplace Sports Department tennis team, marking a new chapter in his career. The announcement, made on March 18, 2026, was celebrated with a special event at the Salter Indoor Tennis Court in Gimpo City on March 17th.
Davis Cup Recognition and City Support
During the event, Jeong Hyeon presented Gimpo Mayor Kim Byung-soo with a commemorative framed uniform worn during a recent Davis Cup match. Despite national team regulations preventing team logos, Jeong Hyeon reportedly requested the Korea Tennis Association to include the Gimpo City Hall mark to promote the city as a key part of his representation.
Mayor Kim formalized Jeong Hyeon’s integration into the team by presenting him with a bouquet of flowers and attaching the Gimpo City Hall mark to his uniform.

“I am very happy to be a member of the Gimpo City Hall tennis team,” Jeong Hyeon stated, adding his commitment to representing both Korea and Gimpo City in the upcoming second round of the Davis Cup.
