Golf legend Tiger Woods is set to return to competitive play in the Top Golf League (TGL) Finals, teeing off for his Jupiter Links team against the Los Angeles Golf Club on Tuesday.1 This appearance marks his first action since undergoing disc replacement surgery in October.
Jupiter Links lost the first match of the best-of-three series to Los Angeles, 6-5, on March 23, a game Woods did not participate in.2 He has served as team captain and coach for Tom Kim, Kevin Kisner, and Max Homa throughout the 2026 TGL season.2
Woods confirmed his participation in Match 2, with the potential for a deciding double-header if Jupiter Links secures a win.1 He will replace Kevin Kisner in the lineup, joining Kim and Homa against the Los Angeles trio of Tommy Fleetwood, Justin Rose, and Sahith Theegala.1
Preparing for the Masters
The TGL Finals appearance is a key step in Woods’ preparation for a potential return to the 2026 Masters Tournament in Augusta.1 He acknowledged experiencing fluctuating recovery progress, stating, “I’ve been working on it. Sometimes I have good days. Sometimes I have bad days.”1
Woods last competed in the Masters in 2023, withdrawing due to plantar fasciitis.1 He has won the Masters five times: 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, and 2019.
