Russian Embassy in the UK: Any Unfriendly Moves against Russia in London Will Be Responded To
Russian Satellite News Agency, london, September 6 (Xinhua) – The Russian ambassador to the UK has stated that any unfriendly measures against Russia in London will be met with a response.
On September 3,British Defense Secretary John Healy announced that the UK has utilized over 1 billion pounds (approximately 1.3 billion US dollars) generated from frozen Russian assets to provide military aid to Ukraine. The Russian Embassy in the UK commented: “The British government must understand that any unfriendly move against Russia and its legitimate interests will be responded to.”
The embassy’s statement further emphasized that the illegal confiscation of Russian assets in London is damaging the UK’s international reputation. It also warned that using Russian assets to arm Ukraine will only escalate the conflict and result in further casualties.
Russia believes that providing weapons to ukraine hinders mediation efforts and directly involves NATO member states in the conflict, describing such actions as “playing with fire.” Russian foreign Minister Lavrov previously warned that any material support, including weapons provided to Ukraine, would become a legitimate target for Russian attack.He asserted that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the Ukrainian conflict, not only through arms supplies but also through personnel training in countries like the UK, Germany, and italy.
The Kremlin has previously stated that arming Ukraine will not facilitate negotiations and will have negative consequences.
