Summer ends today with instability in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands with cloudy skies and strong winds, with persistent rainfall especially in the Western Cantabrian Sea, while the Temperatures continue to decline heading into autumn astronomical, which arrives at 8:50 a.m. this Saturday (peninsular time), with seasonal temperatures in which we find ourselves, according to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
In the extreme north of the peninsula, rainfall will predominate, which could appear -during the first hours of today- in some areas of the Cantabrian Sea and the Balearic Islands, accompanied by storms in the Strait and mountainous areas of the south and east of Andalusia and in the south of Castilla-La Mancha. .
Temperatures will generally tend to decrease, except in the Canary Islands, with slight increases, and in the west of the peninsula, where the maximums will increase. Isolated frosts are estimated in the central Pyrenees.
Temperatures will be below 20 degrees in several places in the northern half of the peninsula. The coolest capitals will be Segovia and Soria (17 degrees), and Ávila, León and Lugo (18). On the other hand, it will be warmer in Alicante, Almería and Murcia (29), and Barcelona, Málaga, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tarragona and Valencia (28), reports Servimedia.
No significant phenomena are expected on the first day of autumn, in the Peninsula and the Balearic Islands a stabilization, with a predominance of slightly cloudy skies without precipitation. Only in the eastern Cantabrian there will still be weak rainfall, tending to clear during the day.
