A80 Festival: 8,800 Volunteers Ready to Contribute

In the afternoon of August 16, at the Hang Day stadium (Hanoi), the Hanoi youth union organized the program “Meeting with volunteers participating in the series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam”.

The event was followed by Mr. Nguyen Tuong Lam, secretary of the Central Youth Union, president of the Central Union of Youth of Vietnam, the leaders of the Committee of the Front of the Fatherland of Vietnam in the City of Hanoi and more than 8,800 volunteers from 43 universities, colleges and youth unions of the city.

A special launching ceremony of the capital of the capital

Speaking during the program, Mr. Nguyen Tien Hung, secretary of the Hanoi youth union, said it was an exceptional launch ceremony. “The 8,800 members and young people present today are honored to represent nearly 3 million young people and more than 600,000 union members of the Hanoi capital. Together, we will assume tasks such as the reception and support of delegations, residents of the provinces, cities and international delegations, the maintenance of security and order, as well as environmental protection, “said Hung.

According to Mr. Hung, the work extends from Place Ba Dinh more than 10 km from streets on the parade routes, requiring good health, scientific working methods, a pioneer spirit and a desire to contribute.

Volunteers are trained in many skills

According to the organizers, volunteers are carefully selected for their political and moral qualities, their good academic results, their mastery of foreign languages and their good physical health to accomplish the tasks entrusted to them. The City Youth Union has recruited more than 200 volunteers. The cars transport the forces to ensure the safety and efficiency of volunteers in the exercise of their functions.

During the program, the Union of Young people of Hanoi presented uniform items such as shirts, hats, volunteer cards … and organized training for volunteers.

The content of the training includes the necessary skills such as: supporting security and order, ensuring environmental sanitation, guide evacuation, move victims, first aid, etc. ; Take notes when performing tasks and focus on good manners, discipline and ensure security.

Through this program, the young people of the capital expressed their national pride and their spirit of dedication, ready to serve the great festival of the nation.
