Volleyball Defeats Eastern Illinois

CHARLESTON,Ill. – The volleyball team won against Eastern Illinois 3-1 on Friday night. This victory improves their record to 12-7 overall and 5-3 in conference play.

The team started strong, winning the first set 25-20. Eastern Illinois responded by taking the second set 25-23. However, the team rallied, winning the third set 25-18 and the fourth set 25-22 to secure the win.

Leading the way for the team was sarah Smith with 15 kills and a .350 hitting percentage. Emily Johnson added 12 kills, and Jessica Brown contributed with 35 assists. Defensively, Maria Garcia recorded 18 digs.

“It was a great team effort tonight,” said Coach Williams. “We faced some adversity in the second set, but the players responded well and fought hard to finish the match.”
