Asia Digital Engineering Expands MRO Footprint with Recent Facilities in Bahrain, Philippines, and Thailand

Kuala Lumpur-based Asia Digital Engineering (ADE) is strategically expanding its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) capabilities with planned facilities in Bahrain, the Philippines, and Thailand, following a period of record growth. This expansion aims to tap into new markets and enhance service offerings, particularly in higher-value maintenance work.

Record Growth and Financial Performance

ADE reported revenue of 247 million Malaysian ringgits ($64 million) in the final quarter of 2025, a 31% increase year-over-year. This represents approximately a quarter of the total sales for its parent company, Capital A, which has fully divested its airline operations to focus on logistics, travel bookings, inflight catering, and maintenance services. Aviation Week Network reports that ADE’s full-year revenue climbed 25% to 894 million ringgits.

Expanding Capacity and Capabilities

The growth in revenue is attributed to increased heavy maintenance capacity, with ADE expanding to 16 operational lines by the finish of 2025. This allowed the company to nearly double its number of base checks performed during the year. ADE is also actively pursuing third-party work, including maintenance for Air France, and aims for 11% of its sales to come from external customers in 2026.

Strategic Expansion into New Markets

ADE plans to open a facility in Thailand in 2027. The Bahrain facility is intended to provide access to the European airline market, mirroring the success of other Gulf-based MRO providers like Joramco. According to ADE CEO Mahesh Kumar, the company is finalizing a $100 million debt facility to support this expansion. Aviation Week quotes Kumar stating, “ADE is entering its next phase of growth from a position of strength…anchored to AirAsia’s Middle East hub and opening access to Europe.”

Focus on Higher-Value Maintenance Services

ADE is also focused on expanding its capabilities in higher-value maintenance areas, including engine and component maintenance, specifically on auxiliary power units (APUs), radomes, landing gear, engines, and engine nacelles. This will be achieved through partnerships and joint ventures within the region. AviTrader highlights a recent strategic collaboration with Revima to integrate Revima’s PREDICARE APU predictive maintenance solution into ADE’s ELEVADE™ digital fleet management platform.

ELEVADE™ Digital Platform

ADE’s ELEVADE™ platform is an all-in-one digital solution for airlines and MRO industries, integrating fleet management, aircraft health monitoring, and workforce optimization. Currently monitoring over 200 aircraft and 3,000 personnel across the ASEAN region, with trials underway with three additional Asian airlines. AviTrader reports that the platform is designed to enhance aircraft maintenance and engineering management.

Certifications and Approvals

ADE has achieved both European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and FAA Part 145 approval, demonstrating its commitment to safety and quality standards. Aviation Week notes that ADE had already secured approved maintenance organization status prior to these certifications.
