Aemet predicts "unusually high temperatures" in the coming days

“Current predictions point to temperatures that could be exceptionally high in about ten days,” the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has warned, although it specifies that “it is still early (…) and we will have to see if it is confirmed.”

Monday July 10 could mark a new record in Seville, with 46.7 degrees on the thermometer. If confirmed, the thermometer would advance three degrees by three degrees approximately from one day to the next from next Friday (37.7), Saturday (40.4), Sunday (43.6) and Monday (46.7).

These days, it could come to a new national record if the deterministic model of the European Center for Medium-Term Weather Forecasts (ECMWF) is taken into account, which forecasts 48.2 degrees in the city of Seville, which would exceed the current one, which is at 47.6 degrees on La Rambla, on the province of Cordoba.

Aemet considers that it is noteworthy in itself that “the numerical models provide so hot“but that” we will have to see if they are confirmed” since the predictions for so many days can vary and these extreme figures may not be confirmed.

From July 9 onwards until July 13, temperatures tend to gradually increase overall. It will exceed 34-36 degrees in the interior of the southern half, half of the Ebro and the interior of Mallorca, and it is likely to exceed 40 in the Guadalquivir valley.
