Agibot Brings Humanoid Ambition to London
Shanghai-based Agibot is officially entering the UK business-to-business (B2B) market, rolling out a suite of humanoid and industrial robots aimed squarely at enterprise clients. Founded in 2023 by two former Huawei engineers, the firm debuted its A3 full-sized humanoid and X2 half-size models at a recent London showcase. The demonstration served as a proof of concept for the company’s “embodied AI,” a technology stack intended to move software out of the digital realm and into the physical workforce.
Engineered for Physical Labor
Agibot’s hardware relies on a blend of magnesium alloy and titanium reinforcements to withstand the rigors of commercial use. The flagship A3 stands 5-foot-8-inches (173cm) tall and weighs 55kg, supported by a 1152W battery that sustains up to 10 hours of operation. For tasks requiring higher agility, the company offers the 4-foot-3-inches (131cm), 39kg X2 model, which provides a two-hour battery life. Both units feature dual-module, dual-SIM 5G connectivity for constant cloud communication.
According to company co-founder and R&D president Yan Xiong, the robots utilize three core intelligence systems to master locomotion, interaction, and physical manipulation. These systems are the building blocks for making the machines more human-like in their operational capabilities.
A Diversified Industrial Portfolio
The firm’s ambitions extend beyond humanoids. Agibot maintains a broad catalog of industrial hardware, including the D1 series—a quadruped capable of executing backflips—and the G2-series industrial robots. The latter are already at work in domestic manufacturing hubs, including the Longcheer electronics factory in China.
Agibot co-founder and COO Daniel Jiang says the firm’s primary objective is to advance the “robot business” by creating machines that can understand, communicate with, and perform tasks for human operators. To hit these targets, the company has concentrated its resources heavily: 80% of its budget and 75% of its staff are dedicated to refining the three core intelligences that power the fleet.
Mass Production Milestones
Agibot is currently in a phase of rapid production scaling. The company recently reported a milestone of 15,000 total units produced, a figure achieved just three months after hitting the 10,000-unit mark.
| Feature | Agibot A3 (Full-size) | Agibot X2 (Half-size) |
|---|---|---|
| Height | 173cm (5’8″) | 131cm (4’3″) |
| Weight | 55kg | 39kg |
| Battery Life | Up to 10 hours | 2 hours |
| Primary Use | Flagship/General Task | Interaction/Customization |
Transitioning Toward Full Autonomy
The current hardware is largely controlled by human operators using smartphones and DualSense controllers, but the long-term roadmap centers on increasing autonomy across the entire product range. Yan Xiong noted that scaling to mass production is the essential first hurdle for the embodied AI industry, with the ultimate goal of moving AI off the screen and into the physical workspace. As the firm transitions from demonstration phases to commercial availability, the focus remains on closing the gap between digital software and physical labor.
