Samsung Expands Interface Control in One UI 7
Samsung is deepening the customization capabilities of its Good Lock suite. The update promises more granular control over the Galaxy interface, specifically targeting gesture inputs and dock aesthetics.

Multi-Finger Gestures Take Center Stage
The most significant update to Home Up is the integration of multi-finger gesture support. Users can now assign specific system actions to gestures involving up to five fingers, such as swiping down or pinching the screen.
According to reports from tech community members, these gestures can be mapped to perform common tasks, including:
- Switching between active applications.
- Opening the recent apps menu.
- Capturing a screenshot.
- Returning to the home screen.
While Samsung devices have historically relied on a “palm swipe” motion to trigger screenshots, this new implementation mirrors functionality found in other Android interfaces, offering a more intuitive alternative for users who prefer pinch or multi-finger inputs.
Refining the Home Screen Dock
Samsung is also expanding the visual customization options for the home screen dock. The update allows users to modify the appearance of the dock area directly through the Home Up settings. Reported customization options include:
- Adjusting the background color or applying custom images.
- Toggling blur effects for a frosted-glass aesthetic.
- Enabling or disabling shadow effects beneath the dock.
- Modifying the corner radius to match the user’s preferred design language.
These additions complement existing Home Up features, such as the ability to adjust folder layouts, grid sizes, and widget dimensions, which have been staples of the Good Lock ecosystem for several years.
The Road to One UI 7
The Good Lock app remains a central component of Samsung’s strategy to differentiate its user experience by allowing owners of Galaxy devices to override default UI limitations. As development continues, users can expect further updates to companion modules like QuickStar and Sound Assistant to follow the One UI 7 release.
