Canucks Rally from Deficit, Force Overtime Against Oilers

The Vancouver Canucks battled back from a two-goal deficit to tie the Edmonton Oilers 2-2 in an exciting overtime contest. Jesper Fast and Seth Jarvis scored for Vancouver, while Connor McDavid and Sebastian Aho found the back of the net for Edmonton.

Necas’ Late Goal Keeps Canucks in the Game

Vancouver’s Teuvo Teravainen tied the game 2-2 with a goal at 13:29 of the second period, capitalizing on a return pass from Eric Robinson.

“I feel like there were a lot of penalties in the first half of the game,” Necas said. “We took four penalties in the first 30 minutes, which kind of takes your momentum a little bit, and we got it going the last 10 minutes of the second.

“We scored a goal on the power play at the beginning of the third, which kind of gave us hope. And then just rolled them over.”

McDavid Gives Oilers an Early Lead

Connor McDavid opened the scoring for Edmonton at 3:34 of the first period, wristing a shot past Andersen from the left dot.

“It was a pretty good game from both teams, entertaining,” McDavid said. “It was not the best defensively on both sides, I would say. Good goaltending, it had a bit of everything. I think we see good signs. We had an opportunity to win tonight and we didn’t.

“I thought we gave ourselves a chance to win in Dallas, we didn’t (4-1 loss on Saturday). If you give yourself a chance in games, you are going to win more than you lose. If you are playing the way that we know we can play, we just haven’t seen it enough.”
