The American technology giant Apple earned 74,039 million dollars (67,622 million euros at today’s exchange rate) between October and July, 6% less compared to the same period of the previous year, as announced this Thursday.
In a statement, the iPhone maker said its cumulative billing in the last nine months it amounted to 293,787 million dollars, 3% less year-on-year.
The figures are explained in some lower product sales that represent its main business, although the services segment, which generates notably lower income, continues to grow.
Between March and July, the third quarter of the financial year, Apple had a profit of 19,881 million dollars, 2% more, while its turnover fell 1%, to 81,797 million.
In this period, the sales of the products, which include the iPhone cell phone or the Mac computers, down 4%up to 60,684 million, and income from services rose 8%, to 21,213 million.
