according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Management (NHTSA), approximately 17% of all traffic fatalities in 2023 involved a vehicle leaving the roadway [[source needed]], highlighting the importance of thorough search procedures in these scenarios. In this case, a thermal-imaging drone proved crucial. the drone identified the wreckage approximately 50 feet from the road surface,concealed within dense vegetation and trees. The vehicle had left the roadway, ascended an eight-foot embankment, and come to rest hidden from view.

Emergency Medical Response and Patient Transport

Once located, the Kansasville Fire Rescue Department (KFRD) was dispatched to provide medical assistance. KFRD’s Paramedic Unit and Engine company arrived on scene and found the driver, the sole occupant of a severely damaged Hyundai Sonata, had self-extricated from the vehicle.

Paramedics quickly assessed the driver’s condition,providing on-site stabilization before transporting him to Froedtert Hospital-Pleasant Prairie for further evaluation and treatment. while the extent of the injuries is still being assessed,they are currently not considered life-threatening.
