Aurora Dentist on Trial for Alleged Poisoning of Wife
Teh trial of James Craig, a 47-year-old dentist from Aurora, began Tuesday in Arapahoe County, with prosecutors alleging he intentionally poisoned his wife, Angela Craig. The state contends financial difficulties and an extramarital affair motivated Craig to murder his 43-year-old wife.
During opening statements, the prosecution presented images of angela Craig during her final days in the hospital, emphasizing the severity of her condition. prosecutors claim Angela was subjected to multiple poisonings, including while under medical care in March 2023.
the prosecution alleges James Craig administered a lethal dose of cyanide, intending to end Angela’s life. The alleged method involved a combination of arsenic, cyanide, and tetrahydrozoline – an ingredient commonly found in over-the-counter eyedrops, such as Visine, which prosecutors say Craig purchased in large quantities.
Evidence to be presented during the trial includes Craig’s online search history, reportedly revealing research into methods for concealing a murder. Specifically, the prosecution highlighted searches related to inducing a heart attack to disguise the true cause of death. The trial is expected to last several weeks as the prosecution builds its case against the Aurora dentist.
