The cause of death for Autumn Oxley Crittendon, star of MTV’s “16 and Pregnant,” has been determined. The Virginia Department of Health released a statement, confirming Crittendon’s death on July 20th at her Henrico County, VA home, was due to drug toxicity from fentanyl and para-fluorofentanyl, an illicit synthetic opioid. TMZ first reported the news.
The health department classified Crittendon’s death as accidental. The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) notes that many illegal synthetic opioids are more potent than morphine and heroin, posing a significant risk of overdose.

Crittendon appeared on Season 5 of “16 and Pregnant” in 2014 alongside her then-boyfriend, Dustin Franklin. Their son, Drake, is now 10 years old.
Henrico County Police Division confirmed the tragic discovery. “Once on scene, officers and fire personnel located an adult female unresponsive within the residence,” the statement read. “Members from Henrico Fire attempted life-saving measures however they were not effective. Autumn Oxley, 27, of Henrico, was pronounced deceased at the scene.”
