An inspiring new exhibition invites visitors to explore teh future of the Basque Country, addressing climatic, social, and cultural challenges while preserving its unique identity. designed to be accessible to all, the exhibition centers around a compelling question: what future do we want to build – and how do we get there?
Central to the experience is an IGN map of the basque country as it could appear in 2050, showcasing a landscape shaped by regenerative practices.Imagine renatured rivers, expansive forests, lasting mobility solutions, and thriving villages – a vision of a more resilient and vibrant region.
The exhibition also highlights the individuals already working to shape this future, featuring a gallery of professions – from politicians and researchers to engineers and artists – offering inspiration for the next generation. A playful reimagining of the classic “7 Families” game introduces jobs that don’t yet exist, focusing on regenerative aims and concrete, impactful roles.
Visitors can further engage with the concepts in a 100 m2 “garden of the future” located in the Olatu patio, showcasing 7 distinct habitats and 35 micro-habitats, alongside immersive workspaces designed for collaboration and contemplation.
The Olatu Agora, a dedicated discussion space within the exhibition hall, fosters open dialog and encourages visitors to share their reactions, questions, and ideas about the future of the Basque Country. this intentionally egalitarian space, free from hierarchy, aims to spark collective action and shape a shared vision for 2050.
