Eduardo Osiel García, lawyer for Belinda, spoke on the program la Mesa Caliente about the reasons why the singer decided to sue Lupillo rivera, who recently discussed her in his book, ‘Tragos Amargos‘.
In the conversation with the Telemundo program, he indicated that the lawsuit is based on statements the singer has made not only in the book but also on social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube. “The comments he makes on digital platforms such as TikTok, YouTube, in which he has repeatedly referred to me in a degenerative way,” García stated.
garcía said that both the name and image of the “Cactus” interpreter were used in the text, but his main concern also centered on the statements that the ‘Toro del Corrido’ made about an alleged relationship between them.
“First, the statement that there was a romantic relationship between the two of them, which Belinda has categorically denied,” he said.
He also mentioned that Lupillo included a screenshot of a FaceTime call, which, according to the lawyer, violates the artist’s privacy.
In the interview, García explained that one of the measures ordered by the Public Ministry in Mexico is that Rivera cannot approach or communicate with Belinda.
Another order issued was the prohibition of intimidating or harassing behavior towards the singer.
The defence also requested that the digital content in which Jenni Rivera’s brother makes derogatory comments about the artist be taken down.
If these measures are not followed, the former participant of La Casa de los Famosos could be arrested for up to 36 hours.
The book ‘Tragos Amargos‘ has been a controversial publication due to the revelations the singer made, not only about Belinda but also about other personalities such as Jenni Rivera, her daughter Chiquis, and Mayeli Alonso, who was married to Lupillo.
