Badminton Double success for local Players

The Edinburgh Reporter was delighted to cover the recent badminton prize-giving, celebrating the achievements of local players.

The event showcased extraordinary talent and sportsmanship, with awards presented to recognise dedication and skill.Among the winners were Martin Campbell,Deepti Vijayakumar,Blair Tait and Lanna Campbell.

Local Badminton Stars Shine at Regional Championships

Local badminton players enjoyed success at recent regional championships, with several Edinburgh athletes taking home titles.

Zoe Tait proved a standout performer, securing victories in both the under-15 girls doubles and mixed doubles events. emma Joshua also had a strong showing in the under-15 age group,reaching three finals and winning the girls doubles alongside Tait.

In the under-19 category, Blair Tait dominated, winning both the boys’ and mixed doubles titles. His mixed doubles partner, Deepti Vijayakumar, added to the Edinburgh success by claiming the girls singles title.

The championships weren’t without disappointment, however, as Thomas Fragell was forced to withdraw from two doubles finals due to injury after reaching the boys’ singles final.

The under-13 and under-17 championships are scheduled to take place at the Jack Kane Center on November 1st and 2nd.
