Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Daulton Varsho sustained a hand injury after being hit by a pitch during Friday’s 7-2 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers, but X-rays have come back negative, according to manager John schneider.Incident Details

In the seventh inning, Milwaukee Brewers reliever Aaron Ashby hit Varsho with a 96.9 m.p.h. sinker while Varsho attempted to check his swing on a 2-2 count. Varsho immediately showed visible distress, favoring his right pinky finger, and was attended to by the Blue Jays’ training staff. He was subsequently replaced in center field and on the basepaths by Myles Straw.

“We’ll see how he is tomorrow, pretty sore obviously and not going to push it there with him,” Schneider said following the game. “The good news is his X-rays are negative.” Varsho’s Injury-Plagued 2025 Season

This latest injury adds to a challenging 2025 season for Varsho, who began the year on the injured list (IL) while recovering from off-season shoulder surgery. After returning in late April, he quickly established himself as a key offensive contributor, leading the team with eight home runs.

however,a grade-1 hamstring strain sidelined him for two months. Since rejoining the team on August 1st, Varsho has continued to perform well, hitting seven home runs and driving in 22 runs in 23 games.
