Tatra Trucks Delivers Unique Blue Firefighting Vehicle to Diamo

Blue fire trucks are uncommon in Europe, particularly in the Czech Republic. However, TATRA TRUCKS, a Czech manufacturer, recently unveiled a striking blue, third-generation Tatra Force firefighting special vehicle on its Facebook page. The vehicle, finished in RAL 5005 Signal Blue, is designed for specialized operations.

Tatra Force Firefighting Special: Key Features

The Tatra Force is a tank car sprayer built on a Tatra chassis, known for its off-road capabilities. The firefighting system was integrated by THT Polička. Key features include:

  • A 9,000-liter water tank
  • A 540-liter foaming agent tank
  • A front-mounted rope winch
  • A high-pressure jet line
  • Additional lighting
  • A powerful roof-mounted lighting mast for nighttime operations

Designed for Diamo’s Specialized Needs

Unlike some firefighting vehicles destined for international markets, this particular Tatra Force will remain in the Czech Republic. It has been commissioned by Diamo, a state-owned company responsible for mitigating the environmental consequences of mining activities – including uranium, ores, gas, oil and coal extraction.

Complementing Diamo’s Existing Fleet

This blue Tatra Force joins a unique yellow Tatra vehicle already in service with Diamo since last year. The yellow vehicle is equipped with a lift and is specifically designed for emergency rescue operations involving miners.

RAL 5005 Signal Blue: A Durable Coating

The vehicle’s distinctive blue color is achieved using RAL 5005 Signal Blue powder coating, manufactured by companies like PPG Coatings and TOPO. This coating provides outstanding exterior durability, corrosion resistance, and UV protection, making it suitable for demanding applications like firefighting vehicles and agricultural machinery. It offers a smooth, medium-gloss finish.
