A landmark building in Cork city centre, the former Bank of Ireland branch on Bridge Street, is undergoing a significant transformation into residential apartments. The redevelopment, spearheaded by OBF Property Investment Group, aims to address the demand for city centre housing and revitalize a long-vacant property.
Revitalization of a Historic Site
After years of standing empty, the upper floors of the Bank of Ireland building are being converted into one and two-bedroom apartments. The project received planning permission from Cork City Council in 2021, allowing for alterations including a ground-floor restaurant and the conversion of the upper three floors to 12 apartments MSN.

The redevelopment is being undertaken by Donal O’Brien’s OBF Property Investment Group, a well-known property developer in Cork MSN. O’Brien is a property management professional and investor with a strong presence in the Cork property market LinkedIn.

Bank of Ireland Branch History
The Bank of Ireland branch on Bridge Street closed over a decade ago as part of a restructuring in 2013 MSN. Prior to the redevelopment, the building briefly housed a Thai massage business.
