Briton to Compete for World Excel championship

Ha Dang isn’t relying on luck in Las Vegas this december. The 33-year-old is heading to the Microsoft Excel World Championships, having earned his spot by defeating over 40 competitors in the inaugural British competition. He describes the experience as “astounded and privileged.”

Dang will represent Britain against hundreds of players worldwide, vying for the title of “world’s best spreadsheeter,” a $5,000 prize, and a personalized championship belt.

The Leeds-based stockbroker only discovered competitive excel last year, yet quickly rose to become the national champion this month.
