Trump Wants Killer of Charlie Kirk to recieve Death penalty

Washington DC – US President Donald Trump said he hopes the killer of right-wing influencer Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson, is sentenced to death.Utah Governor Spencer Cox also stated that authorities are gathering evidence to seek the death penalty for Kirk’s killer.

According to reports from DW and BBC on Sunday, September 14, 2025, trump made these comments during an interview with Fox News, saying he is hoping for a death sentence.

Trump has long been a supporter of the death penalty. He lifted the moratorium on federal executions through executive orders on his first day in office this January. Most executions in the US happen at the state level. Currently, 27 states, the military, and the federal government still have the death penalty as a legal option.
