Broncos Wide Receiver Josh Reynolds Shot Outside Strip Club
Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds was injured in a shooting incident that occurred outside a strip club last week. Janet Oravitz of 9News reports that Reynolds sustained multiple gunshot wounds, including to the back of his head and left arm.
Details of the Shooting
The shooting took place in the early morning hours of October 18, hours after the Broncos’ victory over the New Orleans Saints. Reynolds and another man were wounded in the incident. According to court documents, no conflict developed inside the club, Shotgun Willies, where Reynolds and the other men had been. As they left the club, two vehicles followed them, and gunshots were fired shortly after. The victims fled the scene after their car became undrivable.
Police have arrested two men in connection with the crime. Security footage from the club showed one of the arrested individuals observing the victims inside before following them in a vehicle.
Reynolds, who was placed on injured reserve (IR) with a finger injury a week before the shooting, is reported to be in stable condition and has received treatment for his minor injuries. He has been seen watching Broncos practices from the sideline this week.
Reynolds’ Time with the Broncos
The Broncos signed Reynolds to a two-year, $9 million deal this offseason. He joined the team after playing out his contract with the Detroit Lions. Reynolds had become a key target for quarterback Jared Goff in Detroit, but the Lions opted to increase the role of Jameson Williams, leading Reynolds to seek a new opportunity with Denver.
With the Broncos, Reynolds served as a complementary target for quarterback Bo Nix in the first month of the season. Before landing on IR, he had caught 12 passes for 183 yards and one touchdown.
The Broncos have a young and developing receiving corps, with Reynolds and Courtland Sutton as the most experienced players.
