Bupyeong-gu Public Health Center Launches Maternal and Child Health Program

Bupyeong-gu Public Health Center will begin recruiting participants for its first-half 2026 ‘Maternal and Child Health Management Program’ on February 23rd. The program aims to support healthy pregnancies, childbirths, and childrearing practices within the community.

Program Overview

The Maternal and Child Health Management Program is designed to promote the well-being of both mothers and infants by providing tailored education and counseling throughout each stage of pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare. The program consists of five distinct courses:

  • Pregnant Women’s Health Class: A 4-week course for pregnant women over 20 weeks gestation, offering information for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
  • Saturday Pregnant Women (Couple) Health Class: A class held on the third week of each month, designed for couples to participate together, fostering joint preparation for parenthood.
  • Breastfeeding Love Class: Provides individualized support and training for breastfeeding mothers, addressing common challenges like engorgement, tenderness, and proper positioning.
  • Baby Massage Class: A 3-week course for caregivers of infants aged 4 to 9 months, teaching massage techniques to enhance communication with the baby and reduce caregiver stress.
  • Five Senses Development Play Class: A 3-week course for infants aged 15 to 24 months and their guardians, focusing on play-based activities that stimulate the child’s five senses and promote parent-child interaction.
