Sélestat | Gesticulated confidence of Eugénie Poilue Friday evening at L’Autre Scène
Table of Contents
Through her testimony about her sexual and intimate life, Eugénie Poilue questions the oppression of female bodies by patriarchy and how it took power over female enjoyment.
After experiencing sexual abuse in her childhood, Eugénie Poilue recounts how this abuse had a direct impact on the construction of her sexual life, which she began to endure as a woman object. She has a life journey that has led her to question herself, to heal from her traumas, to become a woman subject and learn to enjoy life and rejoice.
Eugénie Poilue also questions the questions of the making of submission and the alienation of women in this society led by phallocracy and capitalism which inhibits relationships with pleasures and enjoyment.
Coming from the world of theater, sacred clowning and intuitive dance, Charlotte Darteil, alias Eugénie Poilue, has always been nourished by multiple forms of expression.
Passionate about shows that question society, she continues her stage innovations with the idea of making people think and questioning the foundations of the world.
Dance, poetry and testimonies
In 2023, she embarked on the creation of a one-on-one, inspired by gestured conferences, which she renamed “gesticulated confidence”. She continues this adventure with “red and black, enjoy or suffer, should we choose?”, where she explores female sexuality in a capitalist world and the way in which pleasure is understood and experienced there.
In her solo performances, Charlotte Darteil combines dance, poetry and intimate testimonies to offer lively, dynamic and touching shows.
Gesticulated confidence “The red and the black” by Charlotte Darteil, Friday November 14, at 7:30 p.m.,L’autre Scène,18 rue des Bateliers in Sélestat. Show including scenes of nudity; from 15 years old. Prices: €10/€15.
