Xpeng Enters Irish Market with G6 SUV in 2025

Motor Distributors Limited (MDL), the long-standing importer of Mercedes-Benz and other renowned brands, has been chosen as Xpeng’s official distributor in the country.

The Xpeng G6, a Tesla Model Y-sized SUV, boasts impressive features and specifications. It offers a choice of lithium-iron phosphate or lithium-ion batteries, providing ranges of 435km to 570km depending on the model. One of its standout features is its rapid charging capability, utilizing a Porsche-style 800-volt charging system that can accept between 200kW and 280kW of DC fast-charging power.

The G6 is just the beginning for Xpeng in Ireland. MDL has hinted at bringing in other models, including the P7 saloon, and has confirmed that right-hand drive production of all Xpeng vehicles is being considered. MDL is actively working on expanding its dealer network to accommodate Xpeng’s arrival. The company will engage with existing Mercedes-Benz dealers as well as seek new partners to ensure adequate representation for all its brands, including Xpeng.

While the G6 SUV doesn’t offer flying capabilities, Xpeng has ambitious plans for the future, including the development of a two-element flying car. This innovative vehicle combines a ground-based van-like platform with a detachable four-rotor drone/helicopter hybrid.
