Here’s a look at some new shows and movies coming out soon: The series set in the late 50s in Mexico,which fictionalizes the spooky real case of the Poquianchis,two sisters who operated a network of forced prostitution and mass murders: “The Dead Girls (Las Dead)”. The latest installment following Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) as they investigate a Pennsylvania family harassed by demonic activity: “The Conjuring: Last Rites”. the Peacock series in a “Mockumentary” format that explores the decline and comeback of the regional newspaper “The Truth Teller” of Toledo, Ohio: “The Paper”. And the documentary about a group of young climbers from a poor neighborhood in southern Memphis who journey to Mount Kenya, the second highest peak in Africa: “Memphis to the Mountain”.

The Dead Girls (Las Dead)

Netflix will release this six-episode series on September 10. it’s set between the late 50s and early 60s in Mexico and fictionalizes the real, disturbing case of the Poquianchis, two sisters who ran a network of forced prostitution and mass murders. The story centers on Archangel and Serafina Baladro (characters based on the González Valenzuela sisters and played by Arcelia Ramírez and Paulina Gaitán). They used thier social standing and complete lack of consequences to build a criminal empire of brothels where many young people were enslaved and killed. The plot follows their rise and eventual fall, triggered when bodies are discovered and people begin to share what they know about the extent of the crimes. The script is based on Jorge Ibargüengoitia’s novel and is directed by Luis Estrada. The cast also includes Joaquín Cosío, Alfonso Herrera, Mauricio Isaac, Leticia Huijara, and Enrique Arreola.
