Michael O’Brien, who ran the shop for the last 57 years, retired alongside its closure. In another blow to the Galway business community, News and Views, a family-run shop in Gort, has announced a closing down sale. The shop has been a beloved fixture in the town for 35 years, offering toys, cards, and stationery. A for-sale sign now hangs outside the building, signaling the end of an era.
